The premise is simple: technical excellence isn't a nice-to-have, it's the only way a team ships consistently. That means small increments, tight feedback loops, and metrics that show whether the practice is actually working — DORA and product outcomes, not activity.

AI is part of that toolkit now. Used well, it delegates the verifiable micro-decisions so the team's attention stays on the decisions that actually matter. Used badly, it's just more output with no change in outcome — which is theater with extra steps.
